Iowa Credit Union Foundation Receives $408,400 in Charitable Donations

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa –Affiliates Management Company (AMC), and its family of companies, including Coopera, the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL), PolicyWorks Iowa, PolicyWorks, LLC and First Community Trust, N.A. recently donated $169,050 to the Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF), which is the philanthropic arm of ICUL. When combined with earlier contributions from this year, including AMC’s support of ICUF’s Emergency Relief Fund, AMC’s total 2020 contributions to ICUF amount to $284,700.
In addition to this, Iowa credit unions from across the state collectively donated more than $123,740 in year-end gifts to ICUF. This all translates into more than $408,400 raised in support of the Foundation.
Launched in 1995, ICUF works to empower people and communities to achieve financial well-being by championing the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” ICUF also serves as a hub for credit union philanthropy, assisting credit unions with supporting members in need.
Over the past 25 years, ICUF has awarded $2,105,400 to more than 1,000 Iowa credit union members through matched savings, empowering Iowans to save and invest in assets for independence. In addition, $1,343,500 in emergency cash assistance has been granted to more than 2,600 Iowa credit union members to aid with disaster relief and recovery efforts.
In 2020, ICUF established the Emergency Relief Fund in response to the economic impact COVID-19 pandemic had on Iowa credit union members. More than $700,000 was raised to support more than 1,300 Iowa credit union members, including 130 small businesses who may not have been eligible for other assistance programs.
