More Than 650 Attendees to Attend the 2019 Iowa Credit Union Convention

The 89th annual Iowa Credit Union Convention will take place at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center September 18-20.
Des Moines, Iowa - The 89th annual Iowa Credit Union Convention will take place at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center September 18-20. A record-breaking number of more than 650 credit union CEOs, directors, executive staff, guests and exhibitors are expected to attend this year’s conference.
For three days, Iowa credit unions will celebrate stories of success, cooperation and impact of the credit union movement through the “Tell Your Story” theme of this year’s event. Credit unions will share stories of the “people helping people” philosophy being put into action and stories will be displayed on www.TellYourCUStory.com following the event.
This year’s event kicks off on Wednesday, September 18 with a volunteer project with United Way of Central Iowa. Credit union volunteers will be helping to assemble literacy kits for young readers and will visit an area organization to read to children.
The opening keynote on Thursday, September 19 will feature Melanie Spring, a brand storyteller and speaker trainer. She will share with attendees how good brands build brand ambassadorship and how to write your own story.
In addition, Iowa Innovation Group participants will kick off Friday’s keynote session by sharing their new ideas and prototypes that could be implemented for the benefit of Iowa credit unions.
The conference will close on Friday, September 20 with Kevin Brown, a branding and culture expert who will discuss how attendees can use their “hero powers” to kick fear in the face and break through to the next level of performance.
Thirty diverse educational breakout sessions will cover topics relevant to the credit union industry, including leadership, innovation, cybersecurity, regulatory and diversity and inclusion.
All are invited to attend the Iowa Credit Union Foundation’s (ICUF) Benefit Night on Thursday, September 19 at the Convention Center. Tickets are available for purchase at the door. All proceeds will be used to fulfill ICUF’s mission of empowering people and communities to achieve financial well-being.
