Governance, Risk and Compliance Firm PolicyWorks Adds to Its Board of Advisors

John “Ogie” Sheehy and Nicole Gunderson join PolicyWorks board of advisors.
(Des Moines, Iowa – August 18, 2020) – Governance, risk and compliance (GRC) firm PolicyWorks today announced 
it has expanded its board of advisors to seven with the appointment of new members, John “Ogie” Sheehy and Nicole Gunderson.
Sheehy, founder of GRC technology firm ViClarity, joins PolicyWorks’ board of advisors with more than 16 years’ experience working through the ranks of top-tier technology companies, such as Hewlett Packard, IBM and Dell. PolicyWorks acquired ViClarity in 2020 as part of PolicyWorks’ intention to leverage technology and automation to resolve highly complex and manual GRC processes. The investment brought PolicyWorks into an international marketplace, invigorated the business model and broadened the company’s expertise. As a board member, Sheehy will play an integral role in advising PolicyWorks as the company matures in these new areas.
Nicole Gunderson, managing director of the Des Moines-based Global Insurance Accelerator (GIA), joins PolicyWorks’ board of advisors with a career spanning finance, technology and startups. She made her transition to the startup world in 2012, and within five years, advanced from MBA intern to vice president of sales & strategy for fintech startup, Dwolla. Prior to joining GIA, Gunderson served as the chief operating officer at Speeko, an automated verbal analysis and speech coaching company. Gunderson’s experience in driving growth and development will assist in guiding PolicyWorks’ objective to extend its reach to support clients in the broader GRC space with an end-to-end suite of solutions.
